Greeting of the Season and Best Wishes for a healthy, productive and music-filled 2012. CHIRP is hoping to be able to continue to present 25 concerts next summer as it did this past season. So many exciting bands we would like to present for first time in addition to some well loved repeaters. But it all depends on your continuing generosity. Among the "new" bands we have confirmed for 2012 check out Roosevelt Dime coming June 5, Sierra Hull, July 5, and the Fred Eaglesmith Band, July 26. Also, Ariana Gillis on Aug, 7 and Spuyten Duyvil on Aug. 9. For those already planning summer vacations, C.J. Chenier will be back July 17 and The Greencards, July 24.
Thank you for your support and we ask you to please continue to support and thank the businesses and individuals who helped underwrite our 2011 season through their contributions and ads. CHIRP is a series of free Tuesday and Thursday night summer concerts in Ballard Park located in the heart of Ridgefield. It is totally funded by individual and foundation donations as well as contributions from local businesses. It is co-sponsored by the town of Ridgefield through its Parks & Rec. Dep't. and The Ridgefield Press. Concerts begin at 7p.m. CHIRP's mission is to present to its audience music and professional musicians who would not normally otherwise have a venue in the Ridgefield/Danbury area. It's main goal is to build community through shared experience. To hear wonderful, affordable music (no ticket more than $25) in an intimate setting during the other seasons of the year, check out the non-profit singer/songwriter series, The Acoustic Celebration, www.acousticcelebration.org. Wishing you a wonderful year and hoping to see you back in the park in 2012. |
